Abstract

|
Desmoplastic fibroma is a rare, benign, fibroblastic intraosseous tumor originating in connective tissue.
A case in a 21 year-old female is described. A tumor, situated between the root of the right mandibular incisor (medial) and condylar neck. Morphologically, the characteristics of the tumor conformed well to those of a desmoplastic fibroma.
The surgical procedures of the mandibular reconstruction by using of a vascularized iliac bone graft and the differential diagnosis of the desmoplastic fibroma with reference to the histopathological and ultrastructural appearance of the tumor are discussed.
